Makers enjoy talking and sharing their knowledge with others.
In order to better facilitate this exchange of ideas, we’re changing the Faire a little this year.

On October 21 we will hold a Conference that will feature different sessions focused on Education, Startups/Inventors, Community Maker Spaces and Hobbyists.  There is sure to be something for everyone!  Stay tuned for details.

On Sunday October 22 we will host Maker Faire Atlanta in a new location (after many great years in the great town of Decatur).  We are so excited to be moving to Downtown Atlanta.  This year’s venue is the historic Georgia Freight Depot – nestled between Underground Atlanta and the State Capitol Building.

We will be posting a Call for Presenters (for the conference) and a Call for Makers (for the Faire) later this month.

We are also looking for more volunteers to join our team and help with planning this year’s events.  If you are interested and/or have experience in any of the following areas, please e-mailadmin@makerfaireatl.com and let us know what area(s) interests you..

  • Conference Coordination (scheduling sessions, logistics of conference)
  • Programming (helping to find and schedule cool exhibits, speakers and presentations)
  • Maker Relations (corresponding with Makers, answering questions, organizing information)
  • Logistics (designing physical layout/map, coordinating with vendors)
  • Communications/Marketing (e-mail, social media, PR, branding, outreach)
  • Fundraising (sponsors, grants, partners)
  • MakEdu (planning events around education)
